Inclusivity

Accessibility

We aim to create a space that is legible, calm, and usable for everyone who loves the art of paper.

Our Digital Design Goals

We design the Aparecium web interface following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) standards, aiming for Level AA compliance. Our efforts focus on ensuring that everyone, including users with visual, motor, or cognitive impairments, can navigate our desk collection easily.

Implemented Features

To support screen-readers and assistive tools, we focus on:

  • Contrast and Typography: Combining clear sans-serif body text with warm background tones that reduce eye strain while maintaining proper text-to-background contrast.
  • Keyboard Navigation: Structuring page links, product filters, and checkouts so they are fully navigable via standard keyboard inputs.
  • Descriptive Alternatives: Adding alt text to product photos, notebook spreads, and paper details to convey physical design components.

Continuous Refinement

Digital accessibility is an ongoing journey. As we launch new paper collections, features, and interface updates, we regularly review contrast levels, screen reader compatibility, and flow ease.

If you encounter any friction or have suggestions on how we can improve your shopping experience, please let us know at accessibility@aparecium.com.
